The Pastoral Council’s role is VISIONARY. Its intention is to articulate, understand, and refine the vision and mission of the parish. Its purpose is to keep the big picture of the parish in focus. The Administrative Cabinet assists the Pastor with administration of the parish in concert with the Pastoral Council to further the vision of the parish. It is a consultative group whose role is to assist in developing, maintaining, and disbursing the material and financial resources of the parish.
The Administrative Cabinet has three committees:
The role of the Commissions is to provide DIRECTION. These four separate Commissions are empowered by the Pastoral Council to act as managers of the pastoral life of the parish. This collaboration of parish leaders serving in similar areas of parish life exists to promote the larger mission of the parish. They do this in ways that give support, direction and insight to the work of the parish. The four Commissions are: Worship, Education, Peace & Justice and Parish & Family Life.
The Commissions study both the call of the Church to the ministry of their specific areas as well as the call of the local parish as given through the Pastoral Council. They must be rooted in the Gospel, Church teachings and Tradition as well as versed in the activities of the parish that pertain to the ministry which their individual Commission serves.
